OTTAWA, ON – Reshoring Canada is pleased to launch its 2nd annual Supply Chain Survey, to identify the latest supply chain challenges faced by industry partners in several sectors of the Canadian economy. The survey will seek insights from businesses and industry associations that are critical to maintaining Canadian supply chains. Industry associations will assist by surveying their members, which will lead to more targeted and concrete data and solutions.
“Our first survey told the story of the challenges brought on by the pandemic, which are still being felt today. This year, we are seeing supply chains being strained by new factors, including labour shortages, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” said Sandra Pupatello, Co-Chair of Reshoring Canada. Tony Clement, Co-Chair, added, “Last year’s survey was a very informative exercise that illuminated the fragility of our supply chain infrastructure. It will be interesting to learn about the changes that have been made based on what we learned, as well as the effects of the changing macroeconomic environment on global supply chain demand.”
The industry associations participating include:
The Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA), the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), the Manufacturers & Exporters of Quebec (MEQ), the Supply Chain Management Association of Ontario, the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA), the Canadian Association of Moldmakers (CAMM), Automate Canada, Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing, AIAC (Aerospace), the Maritime Employers Association, Food, Health & Consumer Products (FHCP), NGen (Next Generation Manufacturing Canada), TECHNATION, and Fenestration Canada.
Reshoring Canada is pleased to once again partner with Canadian market research firm Mainstreet Research who is conducting the survey. As with the previous year’s survey, Reshoring Canada will be sharing the results with government officials and inviting the participating businesses and industry associations to attend a review and discussion of the survey results.
