Automate Canada Announces New Board Chairperson
(Windsor, Ontario) Automate Canada, a national association for the industrial automation sector in Canada, elected Dave Fortin as Chairperson of the board of directors at its June 21, 2023 annual general meeting.
Outgoing Chair, Shelley Fellows notes “Dave has been a part of the board of Automate Canada since the establishment of this association in 2019. He is an experienced business person with a strong vision of the industrial automation sector in Canada. I’m delighted to welcome such a capable, competent leader.”
Fortin is the founder and President of DataRealm Inc. DataRealm is a Control Systems Integrator for manufacturers and has been based in the Windsor-Essex region since 2003. Fortin has spent 32 years in the manufacturing and engineering sector and is a designated Professional Engineer. Fortin has interests in numerous other businesses in Southewestern Ontario, as well as starts ups in California, Germany and Toronto. He is on the board for WEtech Alliance and regularly consults for business start-ups. He is also part of a number of angel investment groups.
Fortin states “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with this outstanding board and our Executive Director, Nicole Vlanich, to further the strategic objectives of Automate Canada.”
The industrial automation industry is becoming one of Canada’s most important technology industries, contributing an estimated $7 billion to the Canadian economy & supporting approximately 40,000 jobs.
Automate Canada is a not-for-profit association established in 2019 to represent the industrial automation sector of Canada. Automate Canada is affliated with the Canadian Association of Mold Makers (CAMM). Automate Canada’s main goal is to promote and develop the global exposure of the Canadian industrial automation industry, by providing advocacy and a voice for the industry, and to deliver initiatives to increase the innovation and business success of the member companies within the association.
